ITKI Foundation (ITKIF) is a non profit, 501(c)3 that works closely with local entities as well as other organizations to preserve Traditional Knowledge (TK) systems and sustain the development of Creative Knowledge (CK) systems to build inclusive and resilient communities.

Our Initiatives
ITKI Foundation is currently involved in the following projects, which use the Creative Knowledge Platform to describe the creative assets of a territory/community and offer an economic model of territorial promotion to the local creative actors.
Breads of the
Creative Cities

The project describes the bread making traditions of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network and becomes a symbol of sharing and giving mutual support among the cities of the network.
Hands at work:
Carrara Marble

The project looks at the fascinating relationship between Carrara –the city of marble — and its talented artists through video-interviews and cultural itineraries down the streets of the city.

Ranchers and
Gatherers of
the Southwest

The project seeks to strengthen the economic sustainability of local food systems (farmers, ranchers, gatherers and artisanal food makers) of the Southwest.
Artisanal
cheeses

The Artisanal Cheeses project explores the history, science, culture and traditions of artisanal cheesemaking by telling the stories of the Knowledge Keepers (farmers, breeders, cheesemakers) and their heritage.
Parrhasian Heritage Park

The project proposed project encourages local communities in the area of Arcadia, Elis, Messenia (Greece) to live and work within a protected landscape of archaeological significance and outstanding natural beauty.

Hands at Work: Carrara Marble narrates the centuries-old know-how of marble quarrying and working techniques as well as the excellence of its artisans and artists that transform the marble in masterpieces of art, architecture and design.

The white roads
The White Roads focuses on the traditional landscape of white roads (the unpaved country roads) that have marked the scenery of Italy in the past. Today they provide an ideal means of exploring a traditional rural setting.
